I'm Erika—the founder and lead designer behind Roen Creative. As a brand and web designer and illustrator, I'm obsessed with creating refined brands with hand-done illustrative details.
My focus goes beyond making things look beautiful. I pour my heart into developing brand identities that feel timeless, where every detail serves both a functional and aesthetic goal.
Before launching Roen, I designed in the luxury industry, working with brands like Kate Spade and Ralph Lauren. I was raised in Oregon by an architect father and teacher mother, who taught me to value craftsmanship and intentional design—principles that guide everything we create at Roen. I went on to earn my BFA in Design and developed a unique eye that now informs our approach at the studio.
Now based in Brooklyn, I spend my free time giving vintage items new life, illustrating, enjoying an Aperol spritz (regardless of season), making lattes at home, and traveling the world for inspiration.

My primary goal with every project is to create original, attention-grabbing design through thoughtful strategy and artisanal details. I incorporate authentic elements—hand-drawn typography and illustrations into each project that can't be replicated by AI or stock resources.
As an artist at heart, our studio's approach to design is unique.
Roen Creative was founded on a story of resilience.
When naming our studio, I kept returning to Roen—my middle name originating from my mother's family, and a story she shared with me that I've never forgotten.
It honors my great-great-grandmother, whose family nearly never made it to America. They narrowly escaped tragedy by requesting an earlier ship to Ellis Island. They arrived safely, only to discover shortly after that their original ship had tragically sunk.
This story gave new meaning to a family name—one I now honor through thoughtful, artisanal design within our Studio.
